How To Stop Boob Sweat

There’s no shame in sweating. It’s something we all do, and for a good reason: Sweating helps our bodies regulate temperature. The next time you’re feeling sweaty, thank your body for doing right by you. It’s just trying to keep you cool!

Sometimes, however, it doesn’t feel cool when your underboob sweat is causing you discomfort. We’re talking chafing, sticky skin, itching, sweat stains—all of it is unwelcome. Even though sweating is a part of life and we must learn to live with it, there are also ways to keep that sweat to a minimum.

Don’t throw away your collection of gray shirts just yet—we have some helpful tips and tricks to keep you dry.

How To Prevent Boob Sweat

Choose The Right Bralette

Picking out the right undergarments is essential in the battle against boob sweat. Bras tend to have a lot of structure and padding, making them more likely to overheat you.

That’s why we love bralettes—they’re supportive yet unrestrictive, without a bunch of padding to weigh you down. We have tons of styles available in multiple fabric options, so you’re sure to find one that works for you.
If you find yourself getting a little confused about all the different bralette possibilities, we have a handy guide for you.

Wear Breathable Fabric

Now that we’ve deduced you probably need a bralette, it’s time to consider fabric options. You’ll want something breathable, which means the fabric allows air to flow in and out.

All of our amazing Bralette options are breathable—like our signature MicroModal collection and our Stretch Cotton collection—and they come in tons of styles, colors, and prints.

If you’re looking for a lightweight option (that also is great for any sort of movement—yoga, lifting, long walks on the beach, etc), our Breathe Bralettes come in our most breathable fabric, which is also moisture-wicking and odor-resistant so you have no problems feeling fresh all day long.  And if you do happen to sweat? They’re quick-drying so you can get back to being dry in a flash.

Use Antiperspirant

Antiperspirant will do wonders if you give it a chance. Swipe a little under your armpits (or even under your boobs) to help reduce the flow of sweating and keep those areas dry.

If you’re not into the idea of antiperspirant, there are also tons of natural deodorant companies out there with aluminum-free products with a range of pleasant scents that can help mask any unwanted odors and minimize your chances of sweat marks.

Try An Anti-Chafing Powder

If your sweaty skin is rubbing together and causing irritation, consider an anti-chafing powder. The powder helps soak up moisture to keep your skin dry, which will prevent your skin from wigging out on you.

Stay Hydrated

Even though it might seem counter-intuitive, staying hydrated is a major part of keeping your sweat to a minimum. Drinking water helps keep your body cool, which means your body may not feel the need to keep you cool with sweat. Try to drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day to maintain a healthy level of hydration.

Just don’t drink a bunch of water before bed. Just trust us.

Have Wipes Handy

Wipes are a gift from the heavens above. You can clean your skin with them and also use them to wick off any excess moisture. If you’re feeling a little sweat trickling down your chest, grab your handy-dandy wipes and make it disappear. Poof! It’s like it never happened.

Just remember, don’t beat yourself up. Sweat happens. Stay cool out there!
