What’s the Hole in Boxers Called and What’s it For?

You know boxers and you love them. They’re comfy, breezy, and perfect for lounging, sleeping, or doing literally whatever you like to do.

But what you might not know is why there’s a little hole in your boxers. Is it for air-flow? Is it for good vibes? What is the purpose?

Well as your friendly neighborhood underwear experts, we're here to tell you. Let’s investigate!

Why Is There A Hole In Boxers?

Why do boxers have a hole, you ask? The simple answer is because it makes life easier in the restroom. Typically called a fly, it can have a button to keep it closed or it can be self-closing with only fabric. Think of it as going through-the-gate or over-the-fence. Both methods work, but it’s a matter of personal preference.

The hole allows folks to utilize a toilet without having to fully drop their pants, which can be amazing if you’re not looking to sink a whole lot of time into your restroom experience.

Talk about productivity!

Now that we know what the hole in boxers is for, let’s keep the discussion going.

Do All Boxers Have Holes In Them?

No, but our Boxers do. We put holes in our boxers because we believe you should have the ability to choose whether or not to use it. Maybe you want to spend a little more time in the restroom, maybe you don’t. At the end of the day, it’s none of our business!

Our Boxers are made from our signature MicroModal fabric, which is extremely soft, breathable, and sustainably-made from natural fibers. They’re stretchy, comfy, and the author of this blog may or may not be wearing them at this very moment.

If you really cannot stand having a hole in your undergarments, take a peek at our no-fly Boxer Briefs. They’re soft, supportive, and cradle you in all the right places without a pesky hole getting in the way.

Please know that we also have our Boxer Briefs w/ Fly (looking at you, Jon Stewart). We just want you to be happy at the end of the day, and sometimes happiness comes from making the best decision for yourself. Don’t take it lightly!
